A devastating road accident occurred on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Dwarapura in the Kolwa police station area of Dausa, Rajasthan. A passenger bus collided violently with a truck, leading to a massive fire that engulfed both vehicles. According to the latest reports, 8 people have lost their lives in this tragic incident, while 15 others have sustained serious injuries. The intensity of the collision and the subsequent fire turned the bus into a ball of fire within moments, leaving the passengers with very little time to escape.
Immediate Response and Rescue Operations
Upon receiving information about the accident, Superintendent of Police (SP) Piyush Dixit reached the spot immediately to oversee the rescue operations, while to ensure that the injured received medical attention without any delay, the administration established a green corridor to transport them to the Dausa District Hospital. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Yogendra Faujdar, along with a heavy police force, has been stationed at the hospital to manage the situation and assist the victims' families. Rescue teams are still working at the site as there are concerns that more people might be trapped inside the charred remains of the bus.
Suspected Causes of the Accident
Preliminary investigations by police officials suggest that the accident might have been caused by the bus driver dozing off at the wheel. There are also indications that the bus was traveling at a very high speed at the time of the collision. Authorities are currently gathering more information regarding the bus's origin and the total number of passengers on board. To get a clearer picture of the events leading up to the crash, the police have started scanning the footage from CCTV cameras installed along the expressway. This will help determine the exact speed of the vehicles and the circumstances just before the impact.
Public Outcry and Allegations of Negligence
The incident has sparked significant anger among local residents and eyewitnesses against the administration. Villagers alleged that the ambulance and fire brigade reached the spot with a considerable delay, while according to local accounts, the information about the accident and the fire was conveyed to the local police and the expressway management control room at around 3:20 AM. However, the fire brigade's failure to arrive on time allowed the fire to take a formidable form. It was only about an hour after the accident that the windows and doors of the bus were broken to rescue the screaming passengers trapped inside.

Initial reports indicate that out of the 8 deceased, 6 people died due to severe burn injuries, while 2 others succumbed to head injuries sustained during the impact.
