New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said during an event in Moscow on Thursday that India-China relations were affected due to clashes on the Eastern Ladakh border in the year 2020. The External Affairs Minister said that during the last one year, there has been a growing concern about the relations between India and China and China does not even appreciate the border agreement. During an event organized at the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations, the External Affairs Minister also said that for the first time in 45 years such an incident happened on the border in which damage was done.

The External Affairs Minister further said that the basis of relations with any neighboring country is to maintain peace and patience on the border. But this base affected so did the relationship. When the Foreign Minister was asked here, how does India see the progress of China? Then in response to this, the Foreign Minister said that after getting independence from the colonial rulers, many countries all over the world emerged as new powers. China is an exception and it is also a part of this trend. Jaishankar further said that India is China's neighbor and China's progress affects India. China's progress affects Russia and BRICS as well.

The Foreign Minister further said that 'China and our relations have been stable for the last 40 years. China is our second largest economic partner. During his address, the External Affairs Minister said that India's strategic, diplomatic and cultural relations with Russia are also very important. From military to important topics like medicine, space and nuclear, we can say that India has a very strong commitment to its relations with Russia.

Let us tell you that on July 9, the Indian Foreign Minister will hold a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow. In this meeting, the foreign ministers of both the countries will share views on security, trade, economic issues besides technical military cooperation, science, culture and humanitarian aspects besides political issues.
