The opposition staged a massive show of strength at Delhi's historic Ramlila Ground on Sunday, drawing top political leaders from across the country under the leadership of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Prominent opposition figures, including Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, were present alongside numerous other senior leaders of the INDIA bloc. During this grand demonstration of unity, opposition leaders took direct aim at Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar one by one, raising serious questions about the prevailing political and electoral framework of the nation.
Addressing the massive gathering, Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a direct and aggressive attack on the Chief Election Commissioner. He stated that votes have been systematically stolen in this country for several years. Rahul Gandhi specifically highlighted multiple states and electoral cycles during his speech, asserting that votes were brazenly stolen in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and the recently concluded 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He alleged that votes were manipulated through Electronic Voting Machines, commonly known as EVMs, as well as by deliberately deleting names from voter lists or fraudulently adding fake names to them.
Gyanesh Kumar Will Definitely Step Down And Go To Jail
Continuing his address, Rahul Gandhi claimed that whatever he predicts always turns out to be true. Addressing every citizen and particularly every young person in India, he declared that Gyanesh Kumar will certainly be removed from the post of Chief Election Commissioner. In exceptionally strong language, Rahul Gandhi announced that Gyanesh Kumar won't only have to vacate his office, but he will also go to jail. Expressing deep concern over the current socio-economic conditions of the nation, he pointed out that farmers, who feed the country, are being denied their rightful dues, the youth are struggling without employment, and laborers are deprived of their basic rights. Rahul Gandhi alleged that all national wealth and resources have been concentrated in the hands of just two or three individuals. He firmly stated that such an India is unacceptable and the citizens of this country will never endorse such a system.
First Step To Bring Country Back On Right Track
Envisioning an inclusive and equitable India, Rahul Gandhi drew a parallel, stating that just as anyone can participate in Lord Shiva's divine procession without discrimination, the country's governance should be open to all. He questioned whether any citizen can be barred from participating in the nation's progress, emphasizing that this is the kind of India they want to build. Rahul Gandhi stressed that if a farmer works hard with sweat and toil, he must receive the rightful fruits of his labor. Similarly, if a student studies diligently for eighteen hours a day, employment must be guaranteed to them. We don't want a country that belongs exclusively to two or three corporate tycoons. The absolute first and essential step to bring the country back on the correct path is the removal of Gyanesh Kumar.
Rahul Gandhi Expresses Sympathy Over Gyanesh Kumar Being Scared
Adding another dimension to his speech, Rahul Gandhi remarked that he actually feels a sense of pity because Gyanesh Kumar is terrified from within and unable to sleep at night. The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha stated that he's telling the audience with full responsibility that Gyanesh Kumar can't sleep peacefully at night. He added that he personally feels a bit bad that Gyanesh Kumar is scared and suffering from sleeplessness, but immediately noted that Kumar has committed the gravest crime by attempting to suppress the voice and soul of the nation. Despite this, he maintained that they aren't people driven by hatred or enmity, but rather people of love. We want to restore love, affection, and brotherhood in this country once again. This protest isn't limited to any single political party or individual leader, but is a united nationwide protest. This is the protest of India, the very voice of India.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah Raises Questions On Timing
On the other hand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah raised sharp questions regarding the timing of Rahul Gandhi's rally at Ramlila Maidan. Amit Shah publicly questioned why Rahul Gandhi chose to hold such a massive political gala and rally precisely on the day and date when Sikhs were massacred. Consequently, this mega rally at Ramlila Maidan has once again heated up the national political landscape on the fronts of electoral transparency, the institutional integrity of constitutional bodies, and aggressive political rhetoric, bringing the opposition and the ruling dispensation into direct confrontation.
