Actress Poonam Pandey, known for her bold statements in the entertainment industry, has recently come out in strong support of producer Ekta Kapoor's 'Hinduphobia' statement. During an interview, Poonam Pandey emphasized that an individual's personal religion and their professional working style should never be mixed together. Sharing her personal experiences, she talked about how people react to her clothing and bold image when she visits temples, while the discussion began around Ekta Kapoor's statement where she revealed that people used to look at her strangely for applying a religious tilak and wearing a sacred thread around her neck, to the extent that some people even called her a 'tantrik'. Poonam Pandey has boldly shared her opinions on this entire controversy and various other socio-political issues currently going on in the country.

Poonam Pandey strongly supports Ekta Kapoor's statement

While speaking exclusively to news agency IANS, Poonam Pandey supported Ekta Kapoor and expressed her thoughts. Poonam said that whenever she goes to a temple, people look at her with shocked eyes and make remarks, saying that she wears bold clothes and asking why she even bothers visiting a temple. Questioning this mindset, Poonam Pandey stated that her direct question to those people is whether she's barred from visiting a temple. Declaring herself a staunch Hindu, she said that she knows the Hanuman Chalisa very well. Poonam clearly stated that her work should never be connected with her religion. If Ekta Kapoor is following her religion, there shouldn't be any problem with that. Ekta Kapoor had earlier revealed during a podcast that applying a tilak on her forehead and wearing a thread around her neck attracted strange comments from people who used to call her a 'tantrik', raising a major question mark on society's perception of Indian mythological stories and religious identity.

Concern over CJP protests and injuries to students and police personnel

During the interview, Poonam Pandey also expressed deep concern regarding the protests organized by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). She expressed grief over reports of students and police personnel getting injured during protests taking place in various parts of the country. Poonam said that both sides have families, and these incidents clearly show that some people are losing their humanity. Hatred is clearly visible within them, which is neither good for the future of the nation nor good for the country in any way. Poonam Pandey further stated that before holding protests on any issue, people must understand what they're actually protesting against and what their demands are. Coming out on the streets without thought and a solid purpose is proving to be disastrous for society.

Questions on demands for resignation of Chief Election Commissioner and Prime Minister

Talking about the political activities in the country, Poonam Pandey raised sharp questions on the protests demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. She said that some people are even demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi without having complete information. It's crucial for every citizen to understand the dignity, responsibility, and importance of the Prime Minister's office. Taking a jibe, Poonam said that nowadays anybody can randomly stand up and demand anyone's resignation, and if this isn't a joke, then what is. Notably, the CJP had announced a major protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on October 10 against the SIR and demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner. A massive protest regarding the same issue was also witnessed at Mumbai's historic August Kranti Maidan. During these protests, several people were detained by the police to maintain law and order. Considerable controversy also erupted regarding the arrest of CJP leaders and the permission granted for the protests. Expressing concern over this entire sequence of events, Poonam Pandey clearly stated that humanity should be given supreme importance instead of spreading violence and hatred during protests.

Reaction to directions given to actor Imran Khan to leave India

Continuing her statement, Poonam Pandey also reacted to the directive given to actor Imran Khan to leave India by October 28. Speaking to IANS, Poonam said that Imran Khan is a brilliant actor and she holds a lot of respect for him in her heart. However, she also made it clear that if you're a US citizen, her polite request to you isn't to interfere in the internal matters and things of the country. Poonam believes that there is already too much drama happening here, and involvement of outsiders is unnecessary. She also mentioned that some people participating in the protests don't even know what the actual issue behind the protest is, while it's noteworthy that actor Imran Khan had participated in the protest held at Mumbai's August Kranti Maidan on October 10. Following media reports, Mumbai Police reportedly issued a notice to him, directing him to leave India by October 28. Media reports have identified him as a US citizen, making this matter a major subject of discussion. These statements by Poonam Pandey have sparked a fresh debate on social media, where people are sharing varied reactions to her bold stance and views.
