Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been sent back to jail after a brief stay at the hospital, while following the orders issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Imran Khan was shifted to Shifa Hospital under extremely tight security arrangements. However, the period of his stay at the medical facility was short-lived as he was returned to the prison environment within a span of 6 hours. After the completion of necessary medical examinations and tests, the authorities decided to move him back to Adiala Jail.

Transfer and Security Measures

The Shehbaz Sharif government took action on Friday morning to transport the former Prime Minister from Shifa Hospital in Islamabad back to Adiala Jail. Imran Khan, who is the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had been brought from the jail located in Rawalpindi late on Thursday night specifically for the purpose of medical testing. Despite the initial preparations for a potentially longer stay, he was sent back to his cell within just a few hours. According to sources within the jail administration, the police escorted Imran Khan back to his quarters under a heavy security blanket to ensure no lapses occurred during the transit.

Medical Examination and Hospital Arrangements

Before being returned to the facility, Imran Khan was moved from Rawalpindi Adiala Jail to Shifa Hospital. Jail officials confirmed that the transfer was conducted under high-level security protocols. To maintain order and safety, large contingents of police personnel were deployed outside the hospital premises during his presence there. Sources indicated that the hospital had completed all necessary arrangements for the treatment of the PTI founder. A dedicated team of doctors was specifically formed to conduct his medical examination and oversee the testing process as required by the judicial directives.

Supreme Court Directive

The movement of the former Prime Minister to the hospital wasn't a routine transfer but was based on judicial intervention. Earlier this week, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had issued a clear directive to the government. The court instructed the authorities to take Imran Khan from the jail to the hospital for a medical checkup. Following this legal mandate, the administration facilitated the transfer on Thursday night, only to return him to Adiala Jail by Friday morning after the medical team concluded the initial assessment within the 6 hour window.

Current Status at Adiala Jail

As of Friday morning, Imran Khan is back in his cell at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. The Shehbaz Sharif government ensured that the transition from the hospital back to the prison was swift. The police and security forces remained on high alert throughout the process, from the moment he left the jail on Thursday night until his return on Friday morning, while the medical reports and the findings of the doctors' team at Shifa Hospital are expected to be part of the official record following the Supreme Court's instructions regarding his health and treatment while in custody.
