Speaking on behalf of India at the United Nations, First Secretary Bhavika Manglanandan delivered a scathing critique of Pakistan for its continuous support of terrorism. She stated that this neighboring country has also failed to ensure the safety and security of its minority populations. India launched a sharp attack on Pakistan at the United Nations for its unabated backing of terrorism while questioning the neighboring nation regarding religious freedoms. Plus, India rejected a report by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants. It's noteworthy that India's response was delivered by the country's First Secretary at the United Nations, Bhavika Manglanandan.
Questioning the methodology of the report, Manglanandan stated that it portrayed as if all negative occurrences during the COVID-19 pandemic took place exclusively in the Global South, while completely ignoring similar tragic situations that unfolded in developed nations. Targeting Pakistan over the issue of terrorism, she pointed out that terrorists operate openly within the neighboring country, while she emphasized that a terrorist not only takes the lives of innocent people but also damages the overall mindset of an entire nation. She remarked that legal boundaries must be determined according to the principles of sovereign rights. She further added that it's a profound irony that those who vehemently advocate for the rights of terrorists - terrorists who violate humanity's most sacred right, namely the right to life - fail to speak up for the rights of the victims of terrorism.
As an experienced diplomat, Manglanandan taught Pakistan a stern lesson by recalling how Islamabad had refused to claim the bodies of its own soldiers killed during the Kargil War in 1999. She described it as a supreme irony that a country which refused to accept its own fallen soldiers is now speaking with great zeal about faith, religious freedom, and burial traditions. She stated that she would like to remind them it was the Indian Army that buried many Pakistani soldiers with full military honors and in accordance with Islamic rituals.
Manglanandan also dismissed Pakistan's remarks concerning the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that Islamabad should instead direct its attention toward the territories under its illegal occupation and the developments taking place there. She stated that Pakistan's obsessive fixation on what is happening in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir should actually be focused on regions under its illegal occupation, such as Rawalakot. She highlighted that the population of minorities in Pakistan is continuously declining and their rights are violated on a daily basis, while concluding her statement, she asserted that a country which can't ensure the protection of its own minorities has no moral authority to lecture India.
