A sense of panic and grief has gripped the Pratap Nagar police station area in Jaipur following the discovery of a 16-year-old girl's body in the porch of a high-rise apartment building. The deceased, identified as Vanshika, was a student of class 12. Her body was found on Saturday morning after she had gone missing the previous evening. The circumstances surrounding her death have sparked a major controversy, with her family raising serious allegations of murder and pointing towards the grandson of a prominent political figure.

The Timeline of Disappearance and Discovery

According to the information provided by the family, Vanshika left her home on Friday evening around 7 PM. She had told her family that she was going to ride her bicycle near her mother's shop, which is located in Sector 17. When she didn't return home after a considerable amount of time, her family members, who reside in Sector 26, became concerned and began searching for her in the nearby areas. Despite their efforts throughout the night, they couldn't find any trace of the girl. It was only on Saturday morning at approximately 6 AM that her body was discovered lying in the porch of the B-Block of an apartment complex. A security guard at the building noticed the body and immediately informed the police, who then took custody of the remains.

Allegations Against MLA's Grandson

The family of the deceased has staged a protest outside the RUHS Hospital, demanding justice and a fair investigation. Vanshika's mother, Santosh Garg, has made startling revelations regarding the case. She stated that her daughter had been in contact with a boy through the social media platform Instagram. Santosh Garg mentioned that she had discovered this communication a few days ago and had strictly forbidden her daughter from speaking to him. She even claimed to have spoken to the boy herself, who allegedly responded with threats, asserting that he was very powerful. The mother has identified the boy as the grandson (dohita) of Indira Meena, the Congress MLA from Bamanwas. The family alleges that the boy kidnapped Vanshika and subsequently murdered her, while efforts to reach MLA Indira Meena for a comment were unsuccessful as she didn't answer the calls.

CCTV Evidence and Investigation Details

The police investigation has uncovered significant footage from the apartment's CCTV cameras. The footage shows Vanshika entering the apartment complex through Gate Number 2 at 7:20 PM on Friday. At that time, the security guards were reportedly busy recording the entries of vehicles, which allowed her to enter unnoticed. The cameras further tracked her as she took the lift in A-Block to reach the 13th floor. However, there are no cameras installed on the 13th floor itself, leaving a critical gap in the visual evidence of what transpired there. Upon inspecting the 13th floor, police recovered Vanshika's spectacles and slippers. The central question remains whether she fell, jumped, or was pushed from that height.

Police Response and Unanswered Questions

Subhash Garg, the father of the victim, has expressed dissatisfaction with the initial police response. He alleged that the police had found the body early in the morning but didn't inform the family immediately. He claimed he found out about the discovery himself after questioning a guard. Additional Superintendent of Police Alok Singhal stated that a missing person report was initially filed based on the family's complaint, which has now been converted into a formal criminal case. He assured that the investigation is proceeding based on the allegations made by the family, CCTV footage, and other forensic evidence. As the investigation continues, several questions remain: Why did Vanshika go to the 13th floor? Was it a case of suicide or a planned murder? The police are working to piece together the final moments of the 16-year-old student to provide clarity to the grieving family.
