External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has stated that a strong and comprehensive consensus was reached on the issue of terrorism during the BRICS Summit held in New Delhi. In a significant diplomatic development, the BRICS nations have collectively condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, while minister Jaishankar, through his official communications on Monday, emphasized that the summit served as a platform to solidify India's firm stance against global terror activities. He noted that the consensus achieved reflects a unified global voice against the menace of terrorism.
Condemnation of the Pahalgam Terror Attack
One of the most critical outcomes of the summit was the explicit mention and condemnation of the terror attack that took place in Pahalgam on 22 April 2025. The BRICS member states have officially termed this attack as unacceptable. This inclusion is seen as a major victory for India's foreign policy, as the Modi government has consistently advocated for a stringent international response to such acts of violence since the incident occurred on 22 April 2025.
