A heart-wrenching road accident occurred in the Nawalgarh area of Jhunjhunu district on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the tragic death of a government teacher and his wife on the spot. The incident has sent a wave of mourning across the region. According to the information received, this horrific accident took place near a petrol pump located between Golyana and Rampura on the Sikar-Udaipurwati road.
Details of the Collision and Identification
According to eyewitnesses, a high-speed dumper hit the oncoming motorcycle with immense force. The collision was so severe that the couple riding the bike were thrown a considerable distance onto the road and died instantly. The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old Ashok Gurjar, a resident of Reta village in Sikar district, and his 25-year-old wife, Pooja. Ashok Gurjar was employed as a teacher in a government school, while it's reported that the couple was traveling from Reta to Chechyawali Dhani for some family-related work when the accident occurred midway.
Police Action and Public Outcry
The impact of the crash was so powerful that both victims were flung from the bike and sustained fatal injuries, while upon receiving information about the accident, the Gothra police station personnel reached the spot and immediately rushed both to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead after examination. Subsequently, the bodies were kept in the mortuary of SK Hospital, Sikar. Local residents expressed heavy resentment over the negligence and high speed of the dumper driver. The police have seized the dumper and initiated a search for the absconding driver.
