Maruti Suzuki, India's largest car manufacturer, is actively updating its portfolio. According to media reports, the company is working on the new Baleno and the Brezza facelift. Recently, the new Brezza was spotted during testing, while reports suggest that it may feature an underbody CNG tank system, similar to the technology used by the company in models like the Fronx S-CNG and Grand Vitara CNG. The biggest advantage of this technology is that it preserves a significant amount of boot space in CNG models. In existing CNG cars, the placement of the cylinder in the boot reduces the space available for luggage.
Competition with Major Compact SUVs
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza competes in the Indian market with compact SUVs such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV 3XO. The Tata Nexon CNG already offers twin-cylinder technology. So, if the Brezza incorporates this feature, the competition could become even more intense. The Maruti Brezza is one of the most popular compact SUVs in the Indian market and has long been featured in the list of top-selling cars. The SUV is favored for its boxy design, superior mileage, and reliable engine.
Engine and Power Performance
5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine generates approximately 103 PS of power and 137 Nm of torque. The power output might be slightly lower in the CNG variant. According to reports, the company may also offer a new mild-hybrid system and a 6-speed automatic gearbox option with this update.
Design and Exterior Enhancements
Regarding design and exterior, the new Brezza may feature subtle cosmetic changes. While the overall design of the SUV is expected to remain similar to the current model, it may receive new bumpers, an updated grille, and newly designed alloy wheels. On top of that, minor changes might be observed in the headlamps and tail lamps.
These updates being implemented by Maruti Suzuki in the Brezza will make it more competitive in the market, especially for customers seeking a CNG option without compromising on boot space.
