A shocking and heart-wrenching incident has emerged from the Nalanda district of Bihar, shaming humanity, while in Sakrawan village, a young boy had to pay with his life for the minor act of picking up a lemon. Twelve-year-old Shubham Kumar, also known as Jhagru, was brutally beaten to death with sticks, an act that has sent shockwaves through the region. Details of the Incident and the Fatal Dispute

The horrifying incident occurred on Tuesday while the deceased, Shubham, was playing with his friends in the village. According to eyewitnesses and local reports, strong winds were blowing at the time, causing a lemon to fall from a tree in a nearby orchard. Shubham rushed to pick up the fallen lemon, a simple act that infuriated the orchard owner, identified as Gorakh Miyan. Losing his temper completely, Gorakh Miyan allegedly struck the innocent child on the head with a heavy stick. The force of the blow was so severe that Shubham collapsed on the spot, bleeding profusely and losing consciousness immediately.

Death During Transit to Bihar Sharif Hospital

Upon seeing the child's critical condition, family members and villagers rushed to the scene. They immediately attempted to transport Shubham to the Bihar Sharif hospital for emergency medical treatment. However, the injury proved to be fatal. Shubham succumbed to his injuries while on the way to the hospital and was declared dead upon arrival by the doctors. The news of his demise sparked immediate grief and chaos among his family members, who were left devastated by the sudden and violent loss of the young boy.

Public Outrage and Violent Clashes with Police

As the news of Shubham's death reached Sakrawan village, an angry mob of villagers gathered and marched toward the house of the accused with the boy's body. When the local police attempted to intervene and control the situation, the crowd's anger turned toward the authorities, while villagers began pelting stones at the police team, resulting in damage to several government vehicles and injuries to some police personnel. To bring the situation under control and disperse the violent mob, the police were eventually forced to resort to a lathi-charge.

Administrative Response and Security Deployment

Recognizing the gravity of the situation and the potential for further unrest, Nalanda District Magistrate (DM) Kundan Kumar and Superintendent of Police (SP) Bharat Soni personally took charge of the situation, while currently, the village is under heavy surveillance, with personnel from approximately 12 police stations patrolling the area to prevent rumors and maintain peace. SP Bharat Soni confirmed that 12 individuals have been detained so far in connection with the violence and rioting. Meanwhile, a massive manhunt is underway to apprehend the primary accused, Gorakh Miyan, who fled the scene after the incident.

A Father's Grief and Allegations Against Authorities

The father of the deceased, Rajkumar Paswan, who earns a living by driving an auto-rickshaw in Patna, is inconsolable. The distraught father shared that he had already lost one son to illness last year, and now the brutal murder of his second son has completely destroyed his world. Amidst the mourning, village women have raised serious questions regarding the police's conduct. They've alleged that instead of taking swift and strict action against the actual culprits, the administration is harassing the villagers, further intensifying the atmosphere of fear and resentment in the community.
