The collision, which took place in Solukhumbu, Nepal, has resulted in the death of one person while leaving another injured.
Severe Accident at Pheriche Helipad
According to the information received, the collision between two helicopters in Solukhumbu, Nepal, has claimed one life and left another person injured, while as per the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, helicopters belonging to Fishtail Air and Dynasty Air collided while landing at the Pheriche helipad. Gyanendra Bhul, the information officer for the authority, stated that reports indicate the blades of both helicopters struck each other during the landing procedure at the Pheriche helipad. He added that efforts are underway to gather detailed information regarding the accident.
Identity of the Deceased Established as Indian National
According to DSP Navin Raj Budhathoki of the Solukhumbu District Police Office, the blades of the two helicopters collided while landing at the Khumbu Pasanglahamu Pheriche helipad, triggering the accident. The district administration of Solukhumbu officially reported that the deceased in this accident has been identified as 47-year-old Indian national Vasant Kumar Balara Madu. Similarly, the injured individual has been identified as 53-year-old Shailesh Kishan Patel, a New Zealand national of Indian origin.
Pilot Sustains Minor Injuries and Body Brought to Lukla
In this tragic mishap, the pilot of Fishtail Air also sustained minor injuries, while one of the injured individuals from the crash was immediately sent for medical treatment via a mountain helicopter. According to Solukhumbu Police Inspector Mausam Tamang, the deceased was a foreign national. His body has been transported to Lukla using a Prabhu helicopter. The incident has caused widespread concern and raised fresh questions regarding aviation safety in the region.
