Hyundai is currently working on the third-generation model of its highly popular SUV, the Creta. According to various media reports, the upcoming new Creta will feature a completely revamped exterior and interior design, along with significant upgrades in its feature list, while one of the most prominent additions to the vehicle will be the new Pleos Connect system, which marks a major shift in the car's technological capabilities. 25 inch display for both infotainment and instrumentation purposes, the next-generation model is expected to take this several steps further by integrating a more advanced and larger interface.

The Introduction of Pleos Connect System

Hyundai officially introduced the Pleos Connect system earlier this year in May, while the Grandeur sedan is set to be the first model globally to take advantage of this advanced system. The Pleos Connect system is characterized by a large touchscreen interface and a sleek, slim driver display. 25 inch units found in the present Creta. This upgrade is expected to redefine the cabin experience for future Hyundai owners.

Advanced Interface and Functionality

The interface of the Pleos Connect system is intelligently divided into three distinct parts to enhance user experience and accessibility. These sections include the driving information screen, the application screen, and a dedicated bottom bar. The driving information screen serves as a digital instrument cluster, displaying critical data related to the vehicle's operation. This includes a 360-degree 3D surround view, engine status, vehicle speed, driving range, and other essential metrics that were previously available on the standard instrument cluster. On top of that, it also integrates information related to the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), providing real-time safety alerts.

The application screen is designed for media consumption, navigation, and presenting data from various other applications. This screen is versatile, supporting both single-screen and split-screen layouts to allow users to view multiple types of information simultaneously. To ensure quick access, the bottom bar allows users to easily reach recently used or pinned applications with minimal effort. On top of that, Pleos Connect includes an App Market and a feature called Pleos Playground, which enables the creation of custom applications, offering a high degree of personalization for the driver and passengers.

K3 Platform and Software-Defined Capabilities

The third-generation Hyundai Creta will be built upon the K3 platform, which it will share with the second-generation Kia Seltos. This transition to a new platform is expected to result in an increase in the car's overall dimensions and a significant improvement in safety standards. Beyond physical changes, the new Creta is evolving into an advanced Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV), while this technological leap means that the vehicle's performance can be enhanced over time through Over-the-Air (OTA) updates. These updates won't only cover infotainment but will also allow for changes in powertrain tuning and suspension settings, ensuring the vehicle remains updated with the latest optimizations without needing a physical visit to the service center.

Engine and Transmission Options

At the time of its launch, the new Creta is likely to retain its current engine lineup to provide familiarity and reliability to customers. 5 liter turbocharged petrol engine. These engines will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options, catering to a wide range of driving preferences. 5 liter hybrid engine to the lineup. This hybrid variant is expected to bring advanced features such as regenerative braking and improved energy management, further enhancing the SUV's efficiency and appeal in an increasingly eco-conscious market.
