Amidst the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, the government has decided to hike the prices of petrol and diesel. Across the country, the prices of both petrol and diesel have been increased by ₹3 per liter. Following this latest hike, the price of regular petrol in the national capital, Delhi, has reached ₹97.77 per liter, while diesel is now priced at ₹90.67 per liter.

Effective Friday, retail prices for petrol and diesel have risen across the four major metro cities; specifically in Delhi, petrol rates have gone up by ₹3 per liter. Meanwhile, Kolkata has witnessed an increase of ₹3.29 per liter, and Mumbai has seen a hike of ₹3.14 per liter. Following this revision, while petrol in Delhi is now priced at ₹97.77 per liter, it has risen to ₹108.74 per liter in Kolkata and ₹106.68 per liter in Mumbai. Additionally, in Chennai, petrol prices have increased by ₹2.83, bringing the current rate to ₹103.67 per liter.

Turning to diesel prices, they too have seen an increase—much like petrol—with a hike of ₹3 per liter in Delhi. In Delhi, where diesel was previously priced at ₹87.67 per liter, it has now risen to ₹90.67 per liter. Similarly, in Kolkata, diesel prices have gone up by ₹3.11 to reach ₹95.13 per liter. In Mumbai, diesel prices have risen by ₹3.11 per liter—mirroring the increase seen in Kolkata—bringing the latest rate to ₹93.14 per liter following the hike. In Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, diesel has become dearer by ₹2.86 per liter, and is now retailing at ₹95.25 per liter.
