The investigation into the alleged theft of offerings at the Ram Temple has taken a serious turn as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) continues its marathon probe for the sixth consecutive day. Amidst growing concerns regarding the sanctity of the temple management, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has stepped in, appealing to the public to maintain patience for 15 days while the investigation reaches its conclusion. The SIT, comprising three members, is currently focused on questioning the officials and office bearers of the Ram Temple to uncover the truth behind the missing donations and financial irregularities.
The Allegations Against Tinu Yadav
One of the most shocking revelations in the case involves Ram Shankar Yadav, popularly known as Tinu Yadav, who is a close associate of Champat Rai, the General Secretary of the Ram Temple Trust. Tinu Yadav is facing grave accusations of stealing jewelry donated by devotees, while " This statement has become a central point of the investigation, suggesting a systematic attempt to dispose of donated items. Tinu Yadav is currently under intense scrutiny, and reports suggest that his arrest could be imminent as the SIT prepares for major action against him.
Missing Jewelry and Lack of Receipts
The case of Ajay Vishwakarma, a businessman from Jaunpur, highlights the administrative lapses within the temple management. Vishwakarma had donated silver Charan Padukas (footprints) and a necklace studded with nine gems to Ram Lalla. However, he never received an official receipt for his donation, while to his dismay, both the nine-gem necklace and the silver Charan Padukas are now missing from the temple records. Despite the SIT seeking information regarding these specific items, their whereabouts remain unknown. This incident has raised serious questions about how donations are handled and recorded at the temple.
Interrogation of Anil Mishra and Procedural Lapses
The SIT recently conducted a rigorous three-hour interrogation of Anil Mishra, while during this session, investigators discovered that the Ram Temple management failed to follow any Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for handling donations and administrative tasks. It was revealed that employees and officials didn't have officially assigned responsibilities. Instead, the temple operations were largely governed by verbal orders. This lack of formal structure is believed to have created an environment conducive to the alleged embezzlement, while while Anil Mishra was questioned extensively, another individual, Lavkush Mishra, is already in SIT custody in connection with the case.
Allegations of 40 Percent Commission in Construction
Adding another layer to the scandal, Dinanath Verma, a former engineer associated with the temple construction, has leveled explosive allegations of corruption. According to Verma, the theft of offerings is only the tip of the iceberg. He claims that financial irregularities and commission-seeking began as soon as the temple construction commenced. Verma specifically accused Anil Mishra, who was entrusted with the temple financial matters, of demanding and taking a 40 percent commission on every task related to the construction. The former engineer alleged that money was siphoned off in the name of Lord Ram, indicating deep-rooted corruption within the construction process itself.
