While returning from Delhi to Manpur, Pilot made a brief stop at the Bhandarej Interchange on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. During his interaction with the media at this location, Pilot launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led central government, accusing it of playing with the future of the younger generation and failing to address critical issues like paper leaks and unemployment.
Demand for Resignation and Escalation of Protests
The Congress leader was categorical in his demand for the immediate resignation of the Union Education Minister. Pilot stated that the Congress party's agitation would continue unabated until the minister steps down from his post. He emphasized that the party is committed to fighting for the rights of the youth and won't back down. Pilot further warned that if the problems facing the youth aren't resolved in a timely manner, the country could face a significant crisis. He announced that the Congress party plans to intensify its movement across the entire country in the coming days to bring these issues to the forefront of the national discourse.
Impact of Paper Leaks and Coaching Mafia
Highlighting the distress among students, Sachin Pilot pointed out that the youth of India are currently facing unprecedented challenges. He specifically mentioned the recurring incidents of paper leaks that have marred various competitive examinations, leaving millions of aspirants in a state of despair, while pilot alleged that coaching and tuition mafias have become increasingly active under the current administration, yet the government has failed to implement any permanent solutions to curb their influence. He argued that the hard work and dreams of countless young individuals are being systematically destroyed, which is leading to a severe erosion of trust in the nation's educational and recruitment systems.
Condemnation of Police Action at Jantar Mantar
Sachin Pilot also expressed strong disapproval of the recent police action against students who were protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, while he described the use of force, including lathi charges and the firing of tear gas shells on peaceful demonstrators, as a direct assault on democratic rights. Pilot noted that several students sustained injuries during the crackdown and are currently receiving treatment in hospitals. He also criticized the registration of FIRs against the protesters and demanded that all legal cases filed against the students be withdrawn immediately.
