In a significant development in the high-profile death case of actress Twisha Sharma, the family has finalized the schedule for her last rites. After a gap of 12 days since her suspicious demise, Twisha Sharma will be cremated today at 5:00 PM at the Bhadbhada crematorium in Bhopal. This decision was confirmed by her brother, Harshit Sharma, following the completion of a second, high-level autopsy at AIIMS Bhopal. The family, which had been seeking a more detailed investigation, decided to conduct the funeral in Bhopal instead of Delhi or any other city.
High-Level Second Autopsy at AIIMS Bhopal
The second post-mortem examination, referred to as PM-2, was conducted today at the AIIMS Bhopal mortuary. This procedure was carried out by a specialized 5 member panel of doctors who arrived from Delhi via a chartered flight. The team was led by Dr. Milo, the Chairman of the Forensic Board at Delhi AIIMS, while the scientific and legal process was conducted with extreme precision to ensure no evidence was overlooked. The entire procedure was videographed in accordance with court directives to maintain transparency and accuracy in the findings.
SIT Monitoring and Legal Oversight
The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is currently probing the circumstances surrounding Twisha Sharma's death, remained present at the AIIMS premises throughout the autopsy process, while the SIT is working under strict judicial guidelines to uncover the truth behind the actress's death. Following the completion of the scientific examination, the body is being handed over to the grieving family members. From the hospital, the funeral procession will head directly to the Bhadbhada crematorium for the final farewell.
Family's Quest for Justice
Twisha's father, her brother Harshit, and her mother were present at AIIMS, visibly overwhelmed with emotion. The family had previously raised several questions regarding the initial autopsy report, which led to the demand for this second examination. With the Supreme Court taking cognizance of the matter, the family has expressed renewed faith in the legal system. Harshit Sharma stated that their struggle isn't just for their daughter but to ensure justice for every daughter in society. While the family prepares for the 5:00 PM funeral, the police continue to interrogate the accused husband, Samarth Singh, who remains in custody under remand.
