He maintained a dual stance, asserting that while Iran doesn't seek war, it remains prepared to defend itself. "Iran doesn't want war," Pezeshkian stated, emphasizing his long-standing preference for ending conflicts through dialogue, while however, he was quick to add that any aggressors would face a "decisive response" from the Iranian military.
Global Leaders Gather in Kyrgyzstan
The SCO summit serves as a significant platform for countries that are often viewed as an alternative power bloc to Western influence. The gathering includes prominent world leaders such as Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President Pezeshkian is scheduled to hold a high-level meeting with Vladimir Putin on Tuesday on the sidelines of the summit. On top of that, a meeting has already taken place between President Pezeshkian and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting the diplomatic efforts being made even as military actions continue in the Middle East.
