A massive uproar erupted during an event organized in Bihar capital Patna on the occasion of the 139th birth anniversary of Dr Shree Krishna Singh, when Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge was delivering his address. During the event, Congress President Kharge was talking about the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, discussing various political issues. In the meantime, a young man present in the audience strongly objected to the remarks being made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The youth publicly stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi isn't going anywhere. Reacting sharply to this, Congress President Kharge got angry and made a controversial remark in response. Immediately after this, the situation at the venue turned tense, creating complete chaos. The protesting youth was caught by the Congress party workers present at the spot and was beaten up thoroughly. This entire incident has once again created a political stir, witnessing an atmosphere of panic and commotion at the venue.

Controversial statement made earlier in Chennai

Prior to this incident, in April 2026 during the Tamil Nadu assembly elections in Chennai, Mallikarjun Kharge had used the word terrorist for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At that time too, this remark had created a political storm across the country, and the Bharatiya Janata Party adopted an aggressive stance by lodging an official complaint with the Election Commission. The BJP had demanded an unconditional public apology from Mallikarjun Kharge for his statement, while however, despite heavy protests and massive uproar by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge firmly refused to tender any apology for his remark. Such statements have consistently fueled sharp verbal exchanges between the opposition and the ruling party, keeping the political temperature high.

Vicious attack launched on RSS and BJP

During the event held on Sunday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a very sharp and aggressive attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party. He directly termed the ongoing protests against the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls as the second battle for freedom, while kharge demanded that this entire process must be stopped with immediate effect. In addition to this, he also demanded that ballot papers should be used in all future elections instead of electronic voting machines. On top of that, he also placed a massive demand that all assembly elections held across the country in the last two years should be completely cancelled. Speaking from this special platform on the 139th birth anniversary of Bihar's first Chief Minister Doctor Krishna Singh, Kharge alleged that the ideology of the RSS and the BJP is deepening divisions within the country.

Strong demand for conducting polls via ballot paper

Continuing his address, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge reiterated his demand to immediately halt the ongoing Special Intensive Revision process. He strongly emphasized that the general public of the country has the fundamental right to demand transparency and complete accountability from the Election Commission of India. To restore the faith of the public, which is declining in democratic institutions and the electoral process, it's extremely essential that all future elections should be conducted solely through ballot papers. He stressed in his speech that the democracy of the country must be protected at all costs and every single vote must be counted fairly so that public trust in the electoral system can be reinforced. A large number of senior Congress leaders and workers were present throughout the event, and this incident of thrashing during Kharge speech has sparked a massive debate across media and political platforms.
