Meanwhile, the Yogi government of UP has implemented ESMA in the state for 6 months. After the implementation of ESM, there will be a complete ban on strikes in the state for 6 months. Additional Chief Secretary Personnel Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi has given information in this regard by issuing a notification. According to the notification issued, it is necessary to do so in public interest. This rule will also apply to government departments, all corporations and authorities under the state government.

The Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) is imposed by governments to prevent strikes. ESMA can be imposed for a maximum period of six months and if any employee goes on strike after its implementation, it is illegal and punishable. Let us tell you that Essential Services Management Act is called ESMA. Actually, ESMA is imposed by governments to ban strikes. It is obvious that due to strikes the normal services of the state are greatly affected. Whereas ESMA is the law which is implemented to maintain essential services.

Let us tell you that BKU members protested in Baghpat today. BKU District President Pratap Singh Gurjar said, “A symbolic protest was called at Vandana Chowk in support of the bandh. Farmers supported the call and did not go to the sugarcane procurement centres. There was no effect of the bandh in Shahjahanpur, Badaun and Meerut. Many farmer organizations including BKU (Rajewal), BKU (Dakunda), BKU (Lakhowal), BKU (Kadian) and Kirti Kisan Union are participating in the bandh.
