Bihar: A shameful incident has come to light from Samastipur Sadar Hospital in Bihar. A parent had to beg to get the dead body from the postmortem home. It is alleged that the postmortem worker demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 for giving the body. A video of parents begging is becoming increasingly viral on social media. The incident is being told of June 7. The Civil Surgeon has constituted a team to investigate the entire matter.

This case pertains to the town Aahar of Tajpur police station area. Mahesh Thakur's mentally challenged son had gone missing on May 25. The family did a lot of search, but could not find it. Meanwhile, on June 7, the family came to know that a dead body was found in the Musrigharari police station area. When the relatives reached the Musrigharari police station to find out, they were told the dead body at the postmortem home of Sadar Hospital. When the parents reached the Sadar Hospital to collect the dead body of their son, the postmortem personnel there refused to show the body. When the body was shown after many pleas, the father recognized his son Sanjeev Thakur.

The father of the deceased requested the postmortem worker Nagendra Mallick to give the body. Surprisingly, he demanded 50 thousand rupees instead of giving the dead body. The father himself pleaded to give the dead body citing the poor family, but Nagendra Mallick's heart did not sweat. In the end, the helpless parents started begging in the locality to raise money. Someone made a video of begging and put it on social media. After this, the hospital administration broke its sleep and in a hurry, the dead body was sent to the parents' house by autopsy.

Civil Surgeon of Sadar Hospital Dr. SK Chaudhary said that the incident of begging by the parents to get the dead body has come to the fore. An investigation team has been formed in this regard. He said that the accused postmortem personnel may have asked for money, but they would not have demanded such a huge amount. This is a shameful incident. Action will be taken against the guilty after investigation.

In-charge DM told a conspiracy to defame the administration

Samastipur in-charge DM Vinay Kumar said about the viral video, 'It is necessary to refute it. The body was found by the Musrigharari police station on 6 June. On June 7, the family identified the body. It was proper to give the dead body through the police. The allegation of demanding bribe of Rs 50,000 has not been proved in my investigation. When I asked the postmortem worker strictly, he told that I had said that even if you give me 50 thousand rupees, I am not going to give the dead body without the police. Taking his body to the knowledge of the police, it has been handed over to the family. I think this video is an attempt to defame the administration. Nevertheless, it has been directed to conduct a strict investigation. In my first investigation, this case seems to be far from the truth.
