Rape Case / A college student travelling on a bike with a boyfriend was gang-raped in Mysuru

A student has allegedly been gang-raped by a set of miscreants withinside the Mysuru district of Karnataka at the same time as she was travelling along with a male friend on his motorcycle on Tuesday, reviews stated. According to police, the incident passed off withinside the night around 7 pm whilst the duo become getting back from Chamundi hills. A gang of six men, who have been reported in a drunk state, stopped the motorcycle and requested cash. When the male friend stated that they have got no cash on them, the miscreants reportedly attacked him and hit the woman. Then they reportedly took turns to rape the woman at the spot.


A case of gang rape has been registered at Avalahalli Police Station, Mysuru. Both the woman and her male friend are being dealt with at a private hospital, reviews stated. Mysuru police commissioner Dr Chandragupta visited the spot and formed multiple teams to probe the case, PTI reported.


The accused are missing. "It's an unlucky incident. An FIR has been registered. We've despatched senior officers together with ADGP Pratap Reddy to Mysuru. I'm additionally going to Mysuru tomorrow. We'll take strict movement towards the culprits," Karnataka domestic minister Araga Jnanendra stated.


Karnataka leader minister Basavaraj Bommai, who's in Delhi, stated he has directed the director-preferred of police Praveen Sood to provoke an investigation. "Based on the statement, a case has been registered. I even have directed the DGP that whoever has perpetrated it, they have to be identified and stringent action have to be taken towards them," Bommai stated.
