Thief caught within 12 hours / A miscreant arrested for snatching mobile from former Union Minister Vijay Goel

Delhi Police has succeeded in arresting the miscreant who had snatched the mobile from former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Vijay Goel on Monday evening. The accused has been identified as 22-year-old Sajan, a resident of Daryaganj.

The incident took place when Vijay Goel was leaving the Jama Masjid area in his car and for some time his car stopped at a red light. During this, the accused came near his car and ran away after snatching his mobile as the car's window was open.

After the incident, the accused Sajan took mobile receiver Mohd. Asif was sold. The police arrested Asif and recovered the mobile. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera. Police searched the accused on the basis of CCTV footage and recovered the mobile.

The miscreant fled with a mobile phone from former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Vijay Goel. On Monday evening, the miscreant carried out the incident near gate number four of Jama Masjid metro station. On getting information about the incident, top police officers reached the spot. After investigating the matter, the police registered a case at the Kotwali police station and identified the miscreant by capturing the footage of the CCTV camera around the spot.

According to official police sources, the PSO of BJP leader Vijay Goel called the police and informed about the incident. On Monday evening, around 7.45 pm, the BJP leader was going from Daryaganj to Red Fort via Subhash Marg. He was talking on the phone sitting in his Ertiga car. The windshield of his car was down. He was talking on the phone, during this time a miscreant came near his car on foot and snatched the phone from his hand and ran away.

As soon as the miscreant fled, his security personnel ran after the miscreant. But the miscreant escaped after dodging the security personnel. According to the police officer, the miscreant has been caught in the CCTV camera installed at the spot. He was wearing a blue shirt and a white cap. According to the officials, several police teams are being formed to raid the possible hideouts of the miscreant to arrest him. Kotwali police station has registered a case on the complaint of PSO ASI Satveer.
