PM Modi to Inaugurate India's First Ring Metro in Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to mark a significant milestone in Delhi's urban transport on March 8. According to official statements, the Prime Minister will inaugurate two new metro corridors and lay the foundation stones for three additional corridors. The highlight of this expansion is the introduction of India's first 'Ring Metro' service, while this circular network is designed to connect various parts of the national capital seamlessly, Notably reducing travel time for commuters across the city.

Expansion of Metro Network and Launch of Ring Metro

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) expansion is expected to revolutionize the way residents navigate the city. The Ring Metro concept involves connecting existing lines to form a continuous loop around the capital. Officials stated that this initiative will alleviate pressure on major arterial roads and streamline passenger movement at busy interchange hubs. The inauguration on March 8 is expected to be attended by several high-ranking officials and urban planning experts.

Infrastructure Development in Kashmiri Gate Area

Parallel to the metro expansion, the government is focusing on enhancing local connectivity. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta laid the foundation stone for a new Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at the Monastery Market near Kashmiri Gate ISBT on Thursday. During the ceremony, the Chief Minister emphasized that the government values all residents of the national capital, including those from different states. The project aims to provide a safe crossing for pedestrians in one of the city's busiest commercial and transit hubs.

Cultural Integration and Modern Design of FOB

The Public Works Department (PWD) is constructing the new Foot Over Bridge at an estimated cost of ₹3 crore. A unique aspect of this project is its architectural design, which will incorporate elements of Ladakhi culture and traditions. The Chief Minister noted that the Monastery Market has been home to many families from Ladakh for decades. By integrating their heritage into the design, the government seeks to celebrate the cultural diversity of Delhi while providing modern and functional infrastructure.

Administrative Shift Towards Comprehensive Growth

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta commented on the shift in governance priorities. She stated that the current administration is focused on infrastructure development in every corner of the city, moving away from what she described as the vote-bank politics of the previous government. The Chief Minister remarked that the approach of the former administration, specifically mentioning Arvind Kejriwal, had previously hindered the pace of development. She reiterated the government's intent to prioritize public welfare over political considerations.

Global Philosophy and Regional Cooperation

The event also served as a platform to discuss India's broader philosophical outlook. The Chief Minister highlighted that India has consistently followed the principle of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is one family) and has never initiated aggression against any nation except in self-defense. She called for global adherence to the message of peace in light of rising international tensions. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Union Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh and Ladakh BJP President Tashi Gyalson Khachu, reflecting a collaborative approach to regional and urban development.
