Weather Update: Rain Alert in Delhi, Snowfall Forecast for J&K and Himachal

The IMD has issued a rain alert for Delhi on April 28-29 due to a cyclonic system over Rajasthan and Punjab. Snowfall is expected in Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, while 15 states across India are likely to witness rain and a temperature drop of 3-5°C.

Amidst the scorching heat in North India, including Delhi, the weather is set to take a turn. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), residents in Delhi may get relief from the heat in the next 48 hours. A rain forecast has been issued for April 28, while a Yellow Alert is in place for April 29. On Tuesday, the national capital's maximum temperature is expected to hover around 42 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius.

Thunderstorms and rain are expected to continue in Eastern and Central India. States including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and Odisha will witness the impact of strong winds and rainfall. In South India, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry are likely to see thunderstorms, rain, and gusty winds between April 28 and May 1, with hailstorms predicted in some areas.

Heavy Rainfall Warning for North-East India

In North-East India, states such as Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are expected to experience thunderstorms and rain with wind speeds of 30-50 kmph.
