Abhishek Sharma Smashes 2 World Records in Nagpur T20 Mayhem, Surpasses Andre Russell

Abhishek Sharma created history in Nagpur by breaking two massive world records against New Zealand. He surpassed legends like Andre Russell and Suryakumar Yadav.

Abhishek Sharma: Young Indian cricket team star batsman Abhishek Sharma created history at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. With his explosive batting against New Zealand bowlers, he not only broke 2 world records but also established himself at a special level in T20 cricket.

In this match, Abhishek smashed a fifty in just 22 balls, setting the record for the fastest fifty by an Indian batsman against New Zealand in T20 Internationals. Previously, this record was jointly held by KL Rahul (Auckland, 2020) and Rohit Sharma (Hamilton, 2020), both in 23 balls.

By completing his fifty in just 22 balls, Abhishek also set a major world record for the most number of fifties in 25 balls or fewer in T20I cricket. This was his 8th such knock, surpassing Phil Salt, Suryakumar Yadav, and Evin Lewis (who had achieved it 7 times each).

He broke the previous world record held by West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell, who took 2942 balls.
