Music Industry Nepotism / Abu Malik Slams Sonu Nigam For Calling Industry As Mafia And Nepotism Promoter

A lot of celebrities have come forward and openly slammed the movie mafia for promoting nepotism. Sonu Nigam to be one of them shared an IGTV video, talking about the music mafia.

Abu Malik commenting on Sonu’s views said that the song gets popular because of big music companies and not by any singer or composer. Their investment and marketing make them stand in the market and not only their talents. He further expressed that Sonu is a good singer and a great stage performer. He should understand that nepotism is everywhere. In the doctors’ field, lawyers’ field and other fields as well.

Abu also stated that Sonu Nigam, Arjit Singh, Shreya Ghosal being an outsider are an established singer. And if their kids want to be the same than again there will nepotism issues. Hence there is no end to this.

Talking on the same Abu said, “No doubt Sonu Nigam is a great artist, he is a great stage performer.  But there are millions of people who are not able to make even 10000 or 20000 rupees on stage. And there are established singers who make crores and crores of rupees. There is a lot of partition attitude, not only in the film industry but also in the music industry. The composers select singers of their own choices. They make a contract with them and ask them to work according to them because singing is not a big thing. But to do marketing and to do investment is very important. It is due to marketing and investment the song gets popular and not by composing and singing”

“Because if there is no marketing it will not reach out to millions, so actually, the song get popular because of music companies and not because of only composers and singers”  

“Filmmakers like Karan Johar, Yash Raj Films, and also the big actors are powerful. It all depends upon them with whom they want to sign the contract and to whom they want to reject. I think this is in every business and every field. Talking about nepotism I believe that lawyers’ son will become a lawyer doctors’ son will become a doctor, then this is also nepotism. If the actor son becomes an actor so it's not a big deal. If a singer's son becomes a singer music director son becomes a music director and doesn't allow the outsiders, it's completely their choice. Mostly you will see that the outsiders only rule in the industry. Like Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal they all are outsiders they are not from this line. So those who are actually ruling in the industry all are outsiders. In the future when their children will come into this line again there will be nepotism issues. I believe that there is no end to this. This will go on and on.”
