Surveen, who has been active in the industry for more than 14 years, recently spoke openly about the most difficult phase of her career and a serious issue like casting couch. She told how this practice had broken her mentally and even the thought of leaving the industry came to her mind.

Painful experience of casting couch

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Surveen shared her experience of casting couch. She said, "There was a time when casting couch was prevalent in the industry. That period was so scary for me that it became difficult to step out of the house. All this was so disgusting that I decided that I no longer wanted to be in this industry. Every time I stood my ground against casting couch, I lost roles. It was a very difficult and scary time for me."

Surveen further said that repeated rejections broke her from within. She had to lose many projects due to saying no to casting couch, due to which she was completely mentally broken. At one point, she felt that her career was over and it was better to leave the industry now.

Surveen Chawla started her acting career with television. After working in popular serials like 'Kahin To Hoga' and 'Kasauti Zindagi Ki', she turned to films. Her first Punjabi film 'Dharti' was released in 2011, and the same year she appeared in the Bollywood film 'Hum Tum Shabana'. However, she got real recognition in 2014 with 'Hate Story 2', in which she appeared opposite Jay Bhanushali. Recently, Surveen gave a strong performance in 'Criminal Justice 4' with Pankaj Tripathi and now she is ready to play a new character in 'Mandla Murders'.
