Cricket / Afghanistan name revised 15-man squad for T20 World Cup 2021

Cricket | Afghanistan has announced its final squad for the T20 World Cup 2021, starting from October 17. The command of the 15-member team has been given in the hands of Mohammad Nabi. Afghanistan announced their team on Twitter. Afghanistan had earlier selected an 18-man squad and two reserve players were also selected in the team. The first five players selected in the squad have been dropped from the 15-man squad and left-arm pacer Fareed Ahmed, who was earlier in the reserve list, has been included in the main squad.

Apart from this, Sharafuddin Ashraf and Daulat Zadran have been included in the list of reserve players among the players dropped from the main team. Shapoor Zadran, Qais Ahmed and Afsar Zazai have been dropped from the team. Afghanistan's team will start their campaign in the T20 World Cup on October 25 against the qualifiers of Group B. Apart from Afghanistan, this group includes India, Pakistan, New Zealand and the other two teams who have entered the qualifying.

Before the T20 World Cup, the Afghanistan team had roped in former Zimbabwe captain Andy Flower as a consultant. Flower has a lot of experience and has also been the head coach of a team like England. Along with this, he has coached in leagues around the world including IPL.
