IND vs SA: South Africa has suffered a crushing defeat from Team India for the second time within 4 days in its most famous cricket stadium in Johannesburg. On Sunday, December 17, in the first match of the ODI series, Team India's fast bowlers bowled out South Africa for just 116 runs and then achieved this target in just 17 overs and won the match by 8 wickets. With this, Team India took 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. The star of India's victory was left arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, who became the first Indian pacer to take 5 wickets against South Africa.

The last T20 match between Team India and South Africa was played at the Wanderers Stadium on 14 December. In that match, Team India batted brilliantly and scored 201 runs. In response, the South African team was bundled out for just 95 runs. Then star spinner Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc. Now after 3 days, Indian pacers devastated South Africa. The pair of Arshdeep (5/37) and Avesh Khan (4/27) together took 9 wickets.

Arshdeep-Avesh destroyed

Arshdeep started it in the second over of South Africa's innings itself. He dismissed openers Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen on consecutive balls. Then by the 10th over, Arshdeep also took the wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and Tony Di Georgi (28). In this way, South Africa lost 4 wickets for just 52 runs and all four went to Arshdeep, who had not taken a single wicket in the 3 ODI matches of his career before this.

After Arshdeep, it was Avesh's turn and this pacer also took 2 wickets in 2 consecutive balls. Then, with the wicket of David Miller in the 13th over, Avesh ended South Africa's remaining hopes. South Africa had lost 7 wickets in just 13 overs. Andile Phehlukwayo struggled for some time and scored the highest 33 runs for the team, on the basis of which South Africa could reach the score of 116.

Sudarshan shines in debut match

Rituraj Gaikwad and young batsman Sai Sudarshan opened for Team India. 22 year old Sudarshan was making his international debut with this match but while hitting a cover drive on his very first ball, Sudarshan scored a four. Rituraj could not last long and returned to the pavilion in the fourth over itself, but Sudarshan's magic continued. He also got good support from Shreyas Iyer. Both of them completed their half-centuries one by one.

First, Sudarshan made a strong start in his international career by scoring a half-century in 41 balls. Then immediately Shreyas also scored fifty in 44 balls. Shreyas (52) was out on the very next ball while trying to end the match with a six but Sudarshan remained not out after scoring 55 runs and returned after making the team win. With this, India won an ODI match in Johannesburg after 12 years. The next match of the series will be played on Tuesday 19 December.
