Thawar Chand Gehlot: Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot was to fly to Hyderabad by Air Asia flight I5972 from Terminal-2 of Bengaluru International Airport. According to an official of the governor's protocol team, the governor had reached the VVIP lounge well in time and was waiting. An official of the governor's protocol team said that the governor reached the airport at 1:30 pm on Thursday and sat in the VVIP lounge of Terminal 1. The ground staff of the airlines were informed about his arrival and as per protocol all arrangements were made for the Governor to be the last to board. This plane was to take off at 2:50 pm. The Governor reached Terminal 2 from Terminal 1 at 2:06 am, but the airline staff did not clear his boarding saying there was a delay.

The governor was not allowed to board the plane

According to the protocol officer, the flight took off at 2.27 pm, but the governor was not allowed to board the flight by the airlines staff. A case has also been registered in this regard by the Governor's office at the airport police station. After coming to the notice of the matter, Air Asia has clarified and apologized to the Governor for this inconvenience and has also ordered a departmental inquiry into the matter.

Airlines expressed regret over the incident

The airlines said in its clarification, "We regret this incident. An investigation is being conducted and appropriate action will be taken. The senior leadership team of the airline is in touch with the governor's office regarding this.
