Syed Mushtaq Ali | Vidarbha spinner Akshay Karnewar has done a big job in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In the match against Manipur, he bowled all four maidens of his quota. That is, not a single run was given in any over. He also took two wickets as well.

Akshay, who bowled with both hands, has become the first bowler in the world to achieve this feat in T20 cricket. No bowler, including International, Domestic and Franchise T20, had bowled all the four over maidens of his quota. This match was played in Mangalagiri on Monday.

Akshay's team batted first

In this match Vidarbha batted first and scored a mammoth score of 222 runs in 20 overs. Jitesh Sharma scored an unbeaten 71 and Apoorva Wankhede scored 49 runs. In reply, Manipur team was all out after scoring just 55 runs in 16.3 overs. Thus Vidarbha won the match by 167 runs.

Venkatesh Iyer conceded just 2 runs in 4 overs

Earlier, in the match against Bihar, Madhya Pradesh's young all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer also bowled very economical. He conceded 2 runs and also took 2 wickets in his 4 overs, putting 2 maidens. Venkatesh Iyer, who performed brilliantly in IPL Phase-2, can be selected in the Indian team for the home T20 series against New Zealand.

Rahul Dravid will start his career as a full-time coach from the series against New Zealand. Rohit Sharma can be made the captain.
