On the other hand, after the order to open the school, CM Basavaraj Bommai held a meeting with the district officers, superintendents of police and other officers of all the districts by video conferencing. During this, he instructed all the officers to keep an eye on the ground situation.

Prohibition on wearing religious clothes till orders

The hearing of the Hijab dispute case is going on in the Karnataka High Court. This hearing is taking place after a petition filed by some girl students. The petition was referred by a single bench to a larger bench headed by Chief Justice Rituraj Awasthi, which was also heard on Thursday. Chief Justice Rituraj Awasthi had issued an interim order to open the school-college. Also, the wearing of religious clothes was banned till the final verdict came.

What is the reason for the controversy

It is noteworthy that the Karnataka government has implemented section 133 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983 in the state. Under this, uniform has been made mandatory in all schools and colleges. In such a situation, only the prescribed uniform will have to be worn in government schools and colleges. At the same time, private schools can also choose their own uniform. According to the information, the controversy regarding Hijab in Karnataka started during January 2022. At that time, in a government college in Udupi, six girl students had reached the college wearing hijab. It is being told that a few days ago the college administration had forbidden the girl students to wear hijab. Despite this, the girls arrived wearing hijab. When he was stopped, disputes started in other colleges as well.
