PM Modi US Visit: A major announcement has been made during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's US visit in which the US has promised to provide F-35 fighter aircraft to India. This announcement was made by US President Donald Trump himself in a joint press conference where he said that defense cooperation between India and the US will be further strengthened.

US President Donald Trump said that military sales worth several billion dollars will be increased to India from this year. He clarified that Lockheed Martin's F-35 Lightning II will be made available to India. This announcement was made during the joint press conference of Trump and Modi where both the leaders emphasized on further strengthening mutual relations.

Trump said that there is a "special bond" between India and the US and the two countries have decided to increase cooperation in areas such as energy, critical technologies and connectivity. At the same time, Prime Minister Modi described this cooperation as the basis of a better world and talked about creating a defense cooperation framework for the coming decade.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi was formally welcomed at the White House where Trump called him his "great friend". The two leaders answered media questions ahead of the crucial talks and the US' new reciprocal tariff policy was also announced.
