Amit Shah: Sonar Bangla Movement Revived Under Suvendu Adhikari's Leadership

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has declared that West Bengal, after enduring three decades of Left rule and 15 years of Trinamool Congress (TMC) administration, has finally seen the revival of the "Sonar Bangla" movement under the leadership of Suvendu Adhikari and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. Speaking at a high-profile event, the Home Minister emphasized that Bengal historically led the nation in education, staying five decades ahead of the rest of the country. He recalled the immense contribution of Bengal to India's freedom struggle, noting that the state provided many brave freedom fighters who guided the nation in every field. However, he lamented that for a long period, Bengal remained under the influence of governments driven by foreign communist ideologies. According to Shah, after 10 years of persistent struggle and following an appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a BJP government is now in place under Suvendu Adhikari's leadership, breathing new life into the vision of a prosperous Bengal.

Foundation of the World's Largest Curd Production Plant

During his visit, Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for what is set to be the world's largest curd production plant under the Amul Bengal Dairy Project. The ceremony took place digitally from the Vishwa Bangla Convention Center in New Town, targeting the construction of the facility in Howrah. The event was attended by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and senior officials from the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets dairy products under the renowned Amul brand. Shah remarked that the transformation witnessed in West Bengal is unprecedented in post-independence India. He pointed out that the state was previously dominated by the foreign thinking of the Left for thirty years, followed by 15 years of a TMC government that he described as corrupt and ideologically bankrupt.

Strategic Discussions on Governance and Security

Reflecting on his three-day tour of West Bengal, the Union Home Minister shared that the central and state governments have engaged in deep discussions regarding essential governance issues, while he highlighted that over the past two days, several steps have been discussed and initiated to stop infiltration, strengthen law and order, and improve the safety of women in the state. Shah asserted that these measures are crucial for the holistic development and security of the region. He expressed confidence that the proposed Amul Bengal Dairy Project would serve as a milestone for the state's dairy sector, Notably boosting the income of milk producers and creating a strong economic framework for rural communities.

Investment and Economic Impact

The ambitious project involves an investment of approximately 700 crore rupees and will be situated in the Howrah Food Park. Once operational, the facility will have a massive processing capacity of nearly 30 lakh liters of milk per day. According to an official statement, the plant will be capable of producing about 1000 tons of curd and other value-added dairy products daily. Upon completion, this unit will hold the distinction of being the largest curd production facility globally. 25 lakh dairy farmers across West Bengal, including over 30,000 women. This initiative aims to provide farmers with a stable market for their milk and strengthen the dairy cooperative network within the state, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth for the agricultural sector.
