New Delhi : The common man has got another shock of inflation. Amul and Mother Dairy have increased the price of milk by Rs 2 per liter. The new rate will be applicable from August 17. This increase in milk prices has come at a time when inflation is already at a very high level and the kitchen budget of common people is disturbed.

Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation produces and sells milk and dairy proctors under the brand Amul. Amul has increased the price of milk in all markets including Ahmedabad, Saurashtra, Delhi, NCR, West Bengal, Mumbai in Gujarat. Earlier in March this year also, Amul and other brands had increased the price of milk.

Mother Dairy explains the reason for the increase in cost

Mother Dairy has also announced an increase of Rs 2 per liter in the price of milk from Wednesday. The company attributed this to increase in procurement and cost. Mother Dairy is a major supplier in Delhi-NCR and the company sells 3 million liters of milk every day through poly packs and wedding machines. The company said in an official statement on Tuesday that it is constrained to increase the price of milk by Rs 2 per liter with effect from August 17, 2022.

The price of full cream milk of Amul and Mother Dairy brands will now increase from Rs 59 per liter to Rs 61 per litre. The cost of toned milk will be Rs.51 a liter, so for double-toned milk, you will have to pay Rs.45. After the increase, the price of cow's milk will be Rs 53 a liter.
