ICC ODI Rankings: New ODI rankings have been released by ICC. While Shubman Gill has become number one in the ranking of batsmen, Mohammad Siraj has once again become the number one bowler among bowlers. Not only this, Pakistan's Shaheen Shah Afridi, who occupied the number one position last week, has gone straight down from the top. Mohammad Siraj had become number one even before this, but later he moved away from there. But now he has again occupied the same chair.

The reign of Babar Azam on which Pakistan was proud has now been broken by the 24 year old batsman of Team India. We are talking about Shubman Gill who has captured the top position of the ICC ODI rankings. According to the latest ICC rankings, Shubman Gill has become the world's number 1 ODI batsman. He has defeated Babar Azam. Shubhman Gill is at number 1 position with 830 rating points. Whereas Babar Azam has fallen to second place with 824 rating points. Quinton de Kock is at third and Virat Kohli is at fourth.

Babar's reign ends

Let us tell you that Babar Azam remained the number 1 ODI batsman for 950 days but Shubman Gill has now overtaken him. Shubman, popularly known as the Prince of Team India, scored a lot of runs by batting aggressively in the last two years and meanwhile, Babar Azam's form faltered due to which he had to lose his number 1 position.

Shubman Gill becomes number one batsman in ICC ODI rankings for the first time

Shubman Gill has become the number one batsman in the latest ICC ODI rankings with a rating of 830. Last week his rating was 816, which means he has made huge gains this time. Whereas last week's number one batsman Babar Azam has now moved to number two. Last week his rating was 818, which is now 826. Babar's rating has also increased, but Shubman's has increased more, hence he has managed to capture the number one chair. This is the first time that Shubman Gill has become number one in the ICC ODI rankings.

Mohammed Siraj captured the number one position by a good margin

Mohammed Siraj has again managed to reach number one in the ICC ODI rankings with a rating of 709. Siraj was at number three in the earlier rankings with a rating of 856, but this time he has taken a huge leap. After Siraj, now Keshav Maharaj of South Africa has come at second place. His rating is 694. Not only this, now Adam Zampa has come at number three. His rating has increased to 662. Earlier he was at number 9, but suddenly he has taken a huge leap.

Kuldeep Yadav reaches number four, Shaheen Shah Afridi is behind him

Team India's star spinner Kuldeep Yadav has managed to reach number four. Last week he was at number 7 with a rating of 646, but now his rating has increased to 661. Meanwhile, last week's number one bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi of Pakistan has fallen straight from the top to number five. His rating was 673 last week, which has now come down to 658. Last week's number two bowler and former number one bowler Josh Hazlewood is at number five along with Shaheen. His rating is also same as Shaheen.

Mohammed Shami was successful in entering the top 10

Afghanistan's Rashid Khan has moved up one place to number seven. His rating is now 655. Whereas Jasprit Bumrah is at number eight with a rating of 654. New Zealand's Trent Boult is at number nine with a rating of 638. Team India's star fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who was bowling brilliantly in the World Cup, has now come at number ten with a rating of 635, due to his lethal performance in the past and his place in the top 10 has been confirmed.

Why did Shubman become number 1?

Shubhman Gill has scored 2136 runs in 41 ODI matches. His batting average is 61.02. The amazing thing is that Shubman's strike rate is more than 100. Let us tell you that Gill has scored 6 centuries and 11 half-centuries.

Glow of good will

The beginning of Shubman Gill's ODI career was nothing special. He made his debut in 2019 and till 2020 he could play only 3 matches. He was not selected in the ODI team in 2021. But in 2022, this player returned to Team India and that year he scored 638 runs in 12 matches at an average of 70.88. Gill scored one century and 4 half-centuries. In 2023, Gill did wonders. So far, he has scored 1449 runs in 26 matches at an average of 63. Which includes 5 centuries and 7 half-centuries. Let us tell you that Gill has also scored a double century with his bat. He played a explosive inning of 208 runs against New Zealand.

If you want to remain number 1 then you will have to do this work

If Shubman Gill wants to remain on top in the ODI rankings, then he will have to perform well in the remaining matches of the World Cup 2023. If this does not happen then Babar Azam can again become number 1 because there is not much difference between the rating points of him and Gill.
