Business : There is bad news for the common people suffering from inflation. Petrol and diesel prices may increase once again in the coming days. A government source has given this information to Business Today TV.

According to the source, the price hike is set to be done sequentially rather than outright. In this too, the price of diesel may increase more than that of petrol. The price of diesel may increase by Rs 3-4 and that of petrol by Rs 2-3.

What is the reason: According to the source the revenue loss for diesel for Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) is higher than for petrol. OMCs are facing revenue loss of Rs 25-30 per liter on diesel and Rs 9-10 on petrol. Between March 22 and April 6, the prices of petrol and diesel were increased 14 times. No further increase in fuel has been affected in the last 40 days.

As of now, petrol and diesel prices are stable at Rs 105.41 per liter and Rs 96.67 per liter respectively (as per pump prices in Delhi). Let us tell you that India imports 80 percent of its oil, most of which comes from the Gulf countries.
