Dhirendra Krishna Shastri apologized for controversial comment: Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, head of Bageshwar Dham, has apologized for the controversial statement given on Saint Tukaram. He said that if anyone's feelings have been hurt by his statement, then he apologizes. The video of his apology has gone viral on social media. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham had said in a statement that Saint Tukaram's wife used to beat him with a stick everyday.

In the January 31 video, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri can be heard saying that 'Sant Tukaram was a great saint and he is our ideal. Some day while narrating the story, we had expressed feelings about his wife that she was of a strange nature.

He had said, 'We had read the matter of sugarcane. We had read about Saint Tukaram in a book that his wife used to send him to buy sugarcane and after bringing sugarcane used to beat him with the same sugarcane. I had explained this thing in my spirit. If my words have hurt anyone's sentiments, I apologize to them with folded hands. Along with this, I also take back my words for Saint Tukaram.

One such video of him was becoming increasingly viral, in which he was seen saying controversial things about Saint Tukaram. Giving a statement on the 17th century saint Tukaram, he said that his wife used to beat him with a stick everyday. There was a dispute about this, after which he had to apologize.

Dhirendra Krishna Shastri is the head of Bageshwar Dham in Garha village of Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. Recently, a case was registered against Dhirendra Krishna Shastri for promoting superstitious activities, after which the police investigated and gave a 'clean chit' to Shastri.
