IPL 2024: BCCI has geared up for the Indian Premier League 2024. Recently mini auctions have ended in Dubai, where money was showered on the players. Now BCCI has taken another important decision. The search for title sponsor is going on for IPL 2024, this time BCCI is preparing to ban China for title sponsorship, with which India has not had good relations in recent times.

According to the report, in the tender floated by BCCI for the title sponsorship of IPL, it is clearly written that countries which do not have friendly relations with India will not be given importance in this tender.

The base price for title sponsorship is Rs 360 crore per year, after which the tender will be given on the basis of bid. Earlier, Chinese phone company Vivo had been a tight sponsor of IPL, but when the situation deteriorated on the India-China border in the year 2020, BCCI decided to remove Vivo and Tata came as the title sponsor for one year.

What did BCCI write in the tender?

Now BCCI has written in its tender that no bidder should have any connection with any country which does not have good relations with India. If any such bidder comes forward, then he will have to give all the information related to his shareholders to the board and only then any decision will be taken on the bid.

Not only this, the board has also banned companies related to fantasy games, cryptocurrency and betting. Not only this, the companies which are active in manufacturing sports related clothes will also not be able to bid for title sponsorship. Let us tell you that the title sponsorship contract will be for five years, that is, this contract will last from IPL 2024 to IPL 2029.
