WPL 2024 / BCCI is making big preparations for the upcoming season of WPL - announced 8 member committee

WPL 2024: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced an 8-member committee as part of preparations for the upcoming season of the Women's Premier League (WPL). BCCI President Roger Binny has been appointed as the head of this committee. Apart from this, among all the other people included in the committee, only one woman has got a place. Keeping in mind the success achieved after the first season of Khelo India Women's Premier League last year, this committee will work to make it more successful in the coming second season.

While announcing this committee before the auction of players for the second season of the Women's Premier League, BCCI said in its statement that the members of the committee come from different backgrounds and BCCI believes that women's cricket will be promoted. Their collective experience and passion to deliver will go a long way in making the Women's Premier League even bigger. The BCCI said in its statement that the committee members are excited about the opportunity to contribute to its development. They look forward to collaborating with stakeholders, players and fans to create a vibrant and competitive environment that showcases the immense talent within women's cricket. While Roger Binny has been made the chairperson in this committee, apart from this, Jai Shah, Arun Dhumal, Rajeev Shukla, Ashish Shellar, Devajit Shaikia, Madhumati Lele, Prabhtej Bhatia have been included.

Auction of players for the second season will be held on December 9.

The auction process of players for the second season of the Women's Premier League will be held on 9 December. A total of 165 players' names have been registered in the upcoming auction. This list includes 104 Indian women players and 61 foreign players. Of these, 15 players are from associate countries. There are a total of 56 capped players and 109 uncapped players in this list. There are only a maximum of 30 slots available for all five teams together.
