Delhi Cabinet: In the capital Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took a big decision on Thursday. Arvind Kejriwal has made changes in his cabinet and has given Atishi the responsibility of Finance Ministry. Atishi is already the Education Minister, now she has also been given the responsibility of Finance and Revenue Department. Delhi's Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has also approved this decision of Arvind Kejriwal. The power of MLA Atishi from Kalkaji Assembly in Delhi has increased a lot in the Kejriwal government.

Earlier in the cabinet, the responsibility of Finance and Revenue Department was with former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. But he is in jail in a case related to liquor scam, after that this responsibility was given to Kailash Gehlot for some time. However, now making changes again, Atishi has been given the Finance Ministry.

Atishi's stature increased in Delhi government

Due to senior ministers like Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain being in jail, many questions were being raised on the Arvind Kejriwal government. Meanwhile, the vacant portfolios are being assigned to different ministers. Among them, Atishi has emerged as the strongest minister, she currently has the responsibility of about a dozen departments of the Delhi government.

Atishi Marlena now has the responsibility of ministries like Finance, Revenue, Education, Women and Child Development, Energy, Tourism, Public Relations, Art-Culture in Delhi Government. Arvind Kejriwal had included 42-year-old Atishi Marlena in the cabinet for the first time in the second term of his government and in no time her stature has increased so much.

Who is Atishi Marlena?

Atishi Marlena, MLA from Kalkaji Assembly, has been associated with the Aam Aadmi Party and their movement for a long time. Atishi, who studied from Delhi University, worked as an advisor in the Ministry of Education with Manish Sisodia during the first term of the Kejriwal government. Apart from this, she has also worked in the field of education.

He also contested the Lok Sabha elections of the year 2019, but had to face defeat in front of Gautam Gambhir. Later, the Aam Aadmi Party made him contest the assembly elections. After Manish Sisodia went to jail, he has been entrusted with the responsibility of important ministries.
