Onion Robbery / Bike riding youth looted 50 kg onion in Gorakhpur, police says incident is false

Gorakhpur: A case of robbery of 50 kg of onion has been reported here at TDM Tirahe. The rickshaw driver claims that the bike-riding youths who came on the Tirahe threatened robbed a sack full of onions and escaped. Onion costs five thousand rupees. However, after preliminary investigation, the police are considering the incident as false. The police is now planning to file a case against those who gave false information about the loot.

Onions sold for Rs 20 per kg have reached Rs 120 per kg. Meanwhile, on Sunday afternoon when the police received information about the onion robbery from TDM Tiraha of Gorakhpur's Rajghat area, was also surprised. Firoz Ahmed, a wholesaler of Naveen vegetable Market, called 112 helplines claiming that 50 kg of onions had been looted. Police reached the spot after getting information. 

Rickshaw driver left from Transport Nagar Mandi

Yamuna Yadav, a driver, told that he had gone from Mandi by transporting six onion sacks from Transport Nagar Mandi. He had to deliver onions to a hotel. Meanwhile, the TDM tricolor was jammed. Due to the jam, the bike riding miscreants put the bike in front of his cart. Two crooks escaped from behind by robbing a 50 kg sack of onion. The cost of which is 5000 rupees. However, the CCTV footage shows neither the robbery nor the robbers. The footage does not even show a jam-like situation on the road. In such a situation, the police suspect the businessman and the vendor. 

Reality revealed through CCTV

Tahrir has not yet been given to the police on behalf of the victim in the case. CO VP Singh engaged the Rajghat police to investigate. Police also found CCTV footage of the incident. No incident of robbery was seen where the driver of the car had informed the police after the onion robbery. After this, when the police increased the investigation and questioning, the businessmen and the vendor also started changing the statements.
