A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the renaming of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, the country's highest sporting title, to Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, a wave of uproar erupted across the country about this price. and even government plans and canteens.

The latest to join the list is BJP National Secretary-General C.T. Ravi, who has asked Chief Minister Karnataka Basavaraj S. Bommai to change the name of “Indira canteens” statewide to “Cantine Annapoorneshwari”.

In a tweet on Saturday, Ravi wrote: “Ask Minister Sri @BSBommai to rename Indira canteens across Karnataka to 'Canteen Annapoorneshwari' at the earliest. For some reason, the Kannadigas had to remember the dark days of the state of emergency while they ate.

"Indira canteens were established in Karnataka by the parliamentary government, led by Siddaramaiah, in 2017. These canteens offer food at subsidized prices, priced at Rs 5 for breakfast and Rs 10 for lunch and dinner. During last year's national lockdown, the state government provided free food to weaker economic sectors through these canteens.
