Karnataka Election: After a long wait, the Bharatiya Janata Party has finally opened its first cards for the Karnataka elections. The party has released its first list of candidates. The party has announced candidates for 189 seats in the list. According to sources, the second list will also be released soon. Let us tell you that the voting for the Karnataka Legislative Assembly will be held on April 10 and the result will be announced on April 13.

We will again form a government with absolute majority - Dharmendra Pradhan

Releasing the list, Union Minister and in-charge of Karnataka elections Dharmendra Pradhan said that we have given opportunity to local workers in ticket distribution. All the candidates who have been given tickets, their approval came from the local level and their names were stamped by the Election Committee. He said that we are sure that after winning the elections again, the BJP will once again form the government with absolute majority.

52 new faces in BJP list

BJP has given a chance to 52 new people in this list. Along with this, 32 people from OBC society, 30 people from Scheduled Castes and 16 people from Scheduled Tribes have been given a chance in this list. 8 women candidates have been given place in this list. In this list of BJP, 5 lawyers, 9 doctors, 3 teachers, 1 retired IAS officer, 1 retired IPS officer, 3 former government employees, and 8 social activists have been given place.

CM Bommai will contest from Shiggaon seat only

Releasing the list of 189 candidates, the party's General Secretary Arun Singh informed that Karnataka Chief Minister CM Basavaraj Bommai will contest from Shiggaon constituency. On the other hand, BY Vijayendra, son of former CM BS Yeddyurappa, will contest from Shikaripur assembly seat.

Nomination process will start from 13th April

Significantly, the process of filing nominations will start from April 13 and the last date for filing nomination papers is April 20. The BJP, which is aiming to return to power in Karnataka with an absolute majority, has set a target of winning at least 150 of the total 224 assembly seats. At present, the Chief Minister of the state is Basavaraj Bommai and the party is going to the election under his leadership, but if the party wins the election, then who will become the CM?
