The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing attack on the protest organized by the CJP in the national capital, labeling it a complete flop show. During a high-profile press conference, BJP National Spokesperson and Member of Parliament Sambit Patra asserted that the events unfolding at Jantar Mantar don't represent the true narrative of India. He emphasized that while certain elements are attempting to portray a different image through television and specific social media handles, the reality of the nation is rooted in peace and progress under good governance.
The Narrative of Jantar Mantar vs The Story of India
Addressing the media, Sambit Patra stated that the story of Jantar Mantar isn't the story of India. He pointed out that what is being witnessed at the protest site, and what is being amplified by certain social media accounts, is a far cry from the actual state of the country. According to Patra, India remains calm and is moving forward with the principles of effective administration. He characterized the protesters as anarchic forces that have been trying to spread chaos in a corner of Delhi for the past few days. However, he declared that these anarchists have failed in their mission, and their attempt to stage a grand show has collapsed entirely.
Democracy Over Mobocracy
The BJP spokesperson further alleged that there was a calculated attempt to hold the national capital hostage. He claimed that the underlying intention of these protests was to incite arson and violence within the city. Despite these efforts, Patra noted that the day concluded with the victory of democracy over mobocracy, while he reiterated that the citizens of India are witnessing the failure of elements that seek to destabilize the peace of the capital for political gains.
Targeting AAP and Congress Alliance
During the press conference, Sambit Patra also took aim at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress, while he noted a pattern in the recent series of protests, mentioning that the Congress party had called for a shutdown and held a demonstration just a few days ago. He also highlighted that another protest has been scheduled for the 12th. Patra suggested that there is a deliberate attempt to worsen the situation in India during this period. He urged the public to understand the intentions behind these moves, pointing out that there is internal chaos even among the anarchic elements. He described a struggle for credit between the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress, stating that the two parties are currently in a tussle over who gets to lead the narrative of dissent.
Sharp Criticism of Rahul Gandhi
The most direct criticism was reserved for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Referring to the recent visit of several leaders to Rashtrapati Bhavan, Patra described Rahul Gandhi's subsequent statement as that of an unworthy leader. He expressed grave concern over the attempt to drag the President of India into a street-level political battle, something he claimed had never happened before. Patra accused Rahul Gandhi of trying his best to spread anarchy on the streets of India. Plus, he challenged Gandhi's claims regarding electoral integrity, questioning why he didn't present any evidence of vote theft to the President if such evidence existed. Patra concluded by stating that Rahul Gandhi lacks the evidence he claims to have and asserted that the Congress leader isn't fit to hold the office of the Prime Minister.
