Congress Yatra: The second phase of 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' of Congress Party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi started from Sunday. The second phase of the journey has been named ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’. However, the journey could not start on time. Apologizing for the delay in the start of 'Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra' in Imphal, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that due to bad weather in Delhi, our flight was delayed, for this I want to apologize. Criticizing PM Narendra Modi for not visiting the state since the Manipur violence, Rahul said that PM Modi does not see the pain of Manipur.

Criticizing PM Modi over Manipur violence, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that hatred has spread in every corner of Manipur. The ideology of BJP and RSS is one of hatred. After the violence on June 29, the situation here has become very bad. But PM Modi does not see the pain of the people here. He has not yet come to Manipur to wipe the tears of the people.

Everyone should show strength together with Rahul- Kharge

Earlier, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said in his address, “Rahul Gandhi first walked from Kanyakumari to Kashmir in ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. During this journey he met the poor, women, children, journalists and small businessmen. Today again he is taking out ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ from Manipur to Mumbai. That is why it is my hope that everyone should stand with him and show strength.”

The journey is starting from Thobal district of Manipur. Rahul Gandhi is in the capital Imphal for this. Due to fog in Delhi this morning, visibility was very low, due to which Rahul Gandhi's plane took off late. On the other hand, before the start of the yatra, the Manipur government has imposed some restrictions regarding it. The Manipur government has said that this program should not last more than one hour.

Also N. Biren Singh government has said that the number of participants should not exceed 3,000. The Manipur government has argued that since the venue of the event is adjacent to the National Highway, the traffic will have to be diverted to an alternative route. In such a situation, these rules for travel have been shared by the District Officer of Manipur Government.

‘…Travel permission will be cancelled’

The Congress Party has actually changed the venue of the event from Imphal Palace Ground to a private ground in Thobal. It is being said that the reason behind this is that the Bharatiya Janata Party led Biren Singh government had given permission for the gathering of only 1000 people at the Palace Ground in Imphal.

The Manipur government has said that – 'No anti-national or communal or protest slogan will be raised during the rally and yatra and the organizers will have to cooperate fully with the state authorities. If any problem arises in maintaining peace and public order in the area, the permission to travel will be cancelled.

Reason behind choosing Manipur

This series of Bharat Jodo Yatra will also be led by former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. Apart from him, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and top leaders of the party will also participate in the program. At least 180 people have been killed in the violence that began in Manipur in May last year. The dispute here is actually between the Meitei and Kuki communities. There is strong opposition to the demand of Meitei community for ST registration in Kuki dominated states.

Through which states will the Nyaya Yatra pass?

Through this yatra, the Congress Party is trying to draw people's attention towards the issues related to unemployment, inflation and social justice in the Lok Sabha elections. This journey, which is going to start from today, will reach Mumbai in the third week of March where it will conclude.

Indian National Congress claims that this yatra will pass through 15 states and 110 districts in 67 days. Rahul's Bharat Nyay Yatra will pass through Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
