AUS vs SL / David Warner missed hundred by just 1 run Sri Lanka won by 4 runs and clinch a memorable series win

SL vs AUS 4th ODI: Despite the brilliant innings of David Warner (99), Australia suffered a close defeat by 4 runs at the hands of hosts Sri Lanka in the fourth ODI at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Tuesday. After this win, Sri Lanka took an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match ODI series and won the series. This is Sri Lanka's first ODI series win against Australia at home since 1992. Australia had to score 25 runs to win in the last two overs, but the team was all out for 254 runs in 50 overs. Now the fifth and final ODI between the two teams will be played in Colombo on June 24.

Earlier, Sri Lanka scored 258 thanks to Charith Aslanka's maiden century. Charith Aslanka, 24, took the team out of trouble by playing a century for Sri Lanka. He scored 110 runs in 106 balls with the help of 10 fours and a six and scored his first ODI century. Apart from Aslanka, D'Silva made 60 off 61 balls and Wanindu Hasaranga played an unbeaten 21 not out in 20 balls with the help of three fours. Matthew Cunman, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Marsh took two wickets each for Australia.

Chasing the target of 259 runs from Sri Lanka, Australia lost their first wicket on the score of three. After this, Warner along with the rest of the batsmen kept the team in the match. However, Warner was unfortunately stumped for 99. He was stumped by Dhananjay de Silva at the hands of wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella. Warner hit 12 fours in 112 balls. However, he missed the century by just 1 run. Apart from Warner, Pat Cummins scored 35, Travis Head scored 27 and Mitchell Marshan scored 26 runs. For Sri Lanka, Chamika Karunaratna, Dhananjay de Silva and Geoffrey Vandersay took two wickets each while Mahish Thikshana, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Vellallage and Dasoon Shanka took one wicket each.
