IPL 2022 / David Warner scored notout 92 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad told why this innings is special

IPL 2022 | Delhi Capitals registered a stunning 21-run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday and David Warner was the biggest hand in this victory. Warner played an inning of 92 not out off 58 balls and played an important role in taking Delhi Capitals' score past 200. This innings of Man of the Match Warner was very special in many ways. Warner was part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise team till last season. Not only this, Sunrisers Hyderabad has also become the IPL champion under the captaincy of Warner. However, in the last season, all was not well between the team management and Warner and he was first removed from the captaincy and then was also dropped from the team. When Warner was asked after this innings whether he had come out to play against SRH with a different motivation, his answer won everyone's heart.

Warner said after the match, 'It was a very good wicket, I have played some good innings at this ground. I knew that if I played my strokes, I could play a good innings. It is challenging to play with this summer in Mumbai, by the end I was a little tired, now I am getting old. It was great to have Rovman Powell at the other end. I am happy that he was on the other end.

Regarding playing against SRH, Warner said, 'I did not need extra motivation for this match. We have seen what has happened before. Apart from Warner, Powell played an innings of 67 runs off 35 balls. Delhi Capitals scored 207 runs for three wickets in 20 overs, in reply SRH's team could only manage 186 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs.
