Hemant Soren: The news of the recommendation of the Election Commission to Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais to cancel the assembly membership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren is in the headlines. Meanwhile, it has been said from the Jharkhand CMO that no communication has been received from the Election Commission or the Governor in this regard. On behalf of the Jharkhand CM Office, it has been said that the CM has come to know from several media reports that the Election Commission has sent a report to the Governor of Jharkhand, recommending the cancellation of his membership as an MLA. No information has been given to the CMO about this.

On the other hand, Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais has reached Ranchi. During this, he has spoken about the news of the notice being given by the Election Commission.

What did the Governor of Jharkhand say?

Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais said that I have not got any information about Hemant Soren yet. I have not received any order in this regard. On the other hand, BJP leader Raghubar Das has said that Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren is looting water, forest, land and mineral resources as soon as he comes to power. Hemant Soren is responsible for this entire exploit. Hemant Soren is responsible for the political instability in the state. The entire family has taken a mining lease.

What is the charge against Hemant Soren

Hemant Soren has been accused of issuing mining lease to himself and his brother while being the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. CM Hemant Soren was accused of being on an office of profit. The hearing in the Election Commission (ECI) in the mining lease case related to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has been completed. BJP alleges that Hemant Soren illegally allotted mining lease in his name. BJP had demanded his disqualification as MLA (MLA).

4 important questions for Jharkhand

1. What can happen in the next 48 hours?

Political turmoil is being predicted in the state in the next 48 hours. The impact of this decision of the Election Commission is believed to be fixed on the state government. The ruling UPA is making a strategy on that basis after considering all the options. Preparations are being made with Hemant in the UPA camp and the conditions of Hemant not being the CM.

2. If the subscription is lost, what next?

If Hemant Soren's membership is canceled, he will have to resign and take oath as the Chief Minister again. After this, he will have to win the assembly elections again within 6 months. If he is disqualified to contest the election, he will have to resign from the post of Chief Minister. In such a situation, he can hand over the command to someone from the family or party.

3. Can go to High Court or Supreme Court

Senior advocate of Jharkhand High Court A. Allam told Dainik Bhaskar that if the Election Commission finds any MLA or minister guilty of holding an office of profit, then their membership can be terminated. He told that if the membership is canceled, he can appeal in this matter to the High Court. In the case of Article-32, you can directly appeal to the Supreme Court. But all these options depend only after the decision of the Election Commission comes.

4. Discussion in UPA camp, who is Hemant's alternative?

The UPA is in ready mode on both sides of the Election Commission's decision. If the decision does not affect Soren's political health, the ruling party will be in a comfortable mode. The JMM, on the other hand, is restless as to who can be chosen as his replacement if the commission's decision goes against Soren. However, three names have been discussed informally on the party and the UPA platform regarding this.

The first name in it is that of Soren's wife Kalpana Soren. Joba Manjhi and Champai Soren are at number two and third. Both are very close and trusted to the Soren family. The Congress has also not raised any objection to these names yet.

All MLAs are being monitored

In view of the current political situation, the state government is keeping a close eye on all the MLAs of the ruling UPA. The activities of all the MLAs are being closely monitored. Even in their area apart from the capital, those MLAs are being tracked with the help of government machinery.

The state government has become alert after three Jharkhand Congress MLAs were trapped in the cash scandal on July 30 and its message has also been given in the meeting of the UPA legislature party held at CM House recently.

What is mining lease case

In fact, on February 10, a delegation of BJP led by former CM Raghuvar Das met the governor and demanded cancellation of CM Soren's membership. BJP had alleged that CM Soren had taken a mining lease in Angada while in office. BJP alleges that this is a violation of Section 9A of the Representation of the People Act (RP) 1951. The Governor had sent this complaint of BJP to the Election Commission. After that the Election Commission had issued a notice and sought a reply from Soren in this matter. After hearing for about six months, the commission reserved its decision after hearing both the sides. The same decision is expected to come any time now.

JMM does not want to give up control over the government

In the current equation, the JMM is the largest party with 30 members in the 81-elected Jharkhand Assembly. The government is running with the support of 18 MLAs of Congress, one from RJD and one MLA from CPI-ML. In such a situation, JMM is not in a mood to let go of the key of power under any circumstances.
